| In the past, it was the borrower’s responsibility to take time from work to travel to the escrow office to sign their loan documents. Because of lender competition for customer service, a need was created for the Notary Public to become mobile and to gain the training and specific skills to handle the complex duties of loan documents.
A Certified Signing Agent (CSA) is a Notary Public who specializes in notarizing the signatures of the party (ies) involved in real estate loan documents for the purpose of closing a real estate transaction.
